Passenger Information

• Drivers are not permitted to accept tips.
• Morgan County Public Transit (MCPT) is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged articles.
• Passengers must have exact fare in cash. Drivers are not permitted to make change.
• Drivers do not accept schedule changes or make reservations, please call the transit office.
• Scheduled pick-up times, arrival times and departure times are subject to change due to traffic and weather conditions.
• Department of Job & Family Service clients may be eligible for medical transportation.
• 48 hr advance reservation for in county and out of county service.
• Same day reservations will be considered only on a time and space available basis.
• Seat belts are required to be worn by all drivers and passengers. All wheelchairs are to be secured with four-point tie downs.
• MCPT staff are not responsible for children while parents attend appointments.
• Children under the age of four and weighing less than 40lbs. must ride in a child safety seat. (MCPT does not provide child safety seats.)
• Personal care attendants who are designated or employed to assist a passenger ride free. (Please let dispatcher know when scheduling if PCA will accompany – only 1 PCA per rider).
• Passenger assistance is provided to customer’s, curb-to-curb or door-to door upon request. This means drivers may escort customer from main entrance door of origin to main entrance door of destination. Drivers cannot provide assistance if there is more than one step (i.e. curb) to be maneuvered.
• Drivers are strictly prohibited from entering passenger’s homes.
• Service animals are permitted to accompany individuals with disabilities in vehicles, please make the dispatcher aware when scheduling your trip.
• A trip should be cancelled at least two hours before the scheduled pick up time.
• The “on-time” service window means the driver can arrive fifteen minutes before or after the scheduled pick-up time.
• No-show passengers are charged the entire amount of the trip. The 1st no-show will be a verbal warning and the 2nd no-show will be a written warning. Three no-shows within a 30-day period and the failure to pay for those trips, will result in new reservations not being accepted.
• Unruly passengers with disruptive, abusive or argumentative behavior will not be tolerated and actions may result in suspension of service.
• Children under 8 years old and under 4 feet 9 inches must ride in a booster seat.
• All passengers are required to have a shirt and shoes on for service.

About Our Vehicles



The Morgan County Public Transit has a total of 22 vehicles, 22 of which are handicap accessible. We also have 4 vehicles that can accommodate 14 people, and 18 that can accommodate 6 people. All vehicles are equipped with tracking systems and two-way communication equipment and cameras inside and outside the vans and buses.
